Wow September felt like it went by pretty quick! Autumn has finally come and it’s the season for sweaters, cardigans, and scarfs. It’s also the month for Halloween, the perfect reading atmosphere for these new books.

The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith (release date: October 1 2019)

The first book in a new adult fantasy series about unfinished books by their authors residing inside the Library of the Unwritten Hell, and it is up to the Librarians to track down any restless characters who emerge from these unfinished books. This book sounds like it’s right up my alley as I also started reading another series similar to this one called the Invisible Library. I can’t wait to see how this story is written!

The Good Luck Girls by Charlotte Nicole Davis (release date: October 1 2019)

I received at ARC for this which I haven’t started yet (argh I’m behind with my ARCs). The premise on Goodreads says WestWorld meets The Handmaid’s Tale. I haven’t watched the series or read the book but I think what it means is a dystopian fiction about a group of Good Luck Girls sold into a Welcome House. One of them, Clementine, makes an escape and journeys to find freedom, justice, and revenge. A stunning fantasy adventure with a group of characters including a heroine and a survivor.

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo (release date: October 8 2019)

This is on top of my list for new releases this month! I’ve read all of her young adult series including Shadow and Bone, and so I am really anticipating this new adult novel she wrote. It will be really interesting to see how this story is written because this is her first adult fiction, and I have heard plenty of positive reviews for this. Inspired by a secret society at a Ivy League school, the story follows Galaxy ‘Alex’ Storm tasked to monitor occult activities inside Yale’s secret societies. This is the first book in the Ninth House series.

Into the Crooked Place by Alexandra Christo (release date: October 8 2019)

From the same author who wrote To Kill a Kingdom comes a two book fantasy series focusing on four crooks who know just how much magic they need to survive on the streets of Creije. All four of them must band together to save their world and their home after one of them sparks a conflict with another magical outsider.

The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh (release date: October 8 2019)

Halloween is coming and so is the season of horror and paranormal stories such as this one. Set in 19th century New Orleans are vampires hidden in plain sight. A young girl name Celine moves into the city and attracts the attention of an occult leader, Sebastian, until she discovers a trail of dead girls bodies. Written by the same author who wrote the Wrath and the Dawn comes a new paranormal series of vampires and a new murder mystery.

The Grace Year by Kim Liggett (release date: October 8 2019)

43263520. sy475

October seems to be a big month for young adult dystopian worlds. In this world, girls are believed to possess magic: drive other woman into jealousy, seduce men, and emit a powerful aphrodisiac on the edge of womanhood. This is why they are banished after they turn sixteen to release their magic into the wild so they return cleanse and ready for marriage. But not all the girls want that. Tierney James dreams of a better life for herself until that choice is quickly taken away from her. Now she has to learn to survive and trust no one as she joins the girls into the wild.
