March Manga Wrap Up

I read nothing else but manga this month and all because I started a new series recommended to me after finishing The Demon Prince of Momochi Place. After the first three volumes, I took out the rest out of the library until it took me three weeks to catch up with this series. Curious to find out which series took over my attention, and what other new series I started with? Then read on.

1. Kamisama Kiss by Julietta Suzuki

Let me say that I was consumed with this series! I am caught up to volume twenty four and I am still waiting for volume twenty five at my library, but after reading all volumes back to back this month, I am now determined to start buying this series because I absolutely love it. This is the second best shojo series I have read since Yona of the Dawn. It all begins with a young girl name Nanami, forced out of her home after her dad abandoned her because of his gambling problems and debt. Before long, she meets a stranger after she saved him from a dog, and as a thank you, he gives her his place to stay in. But Nanami discovers that it is an abandoned shrine and inside lives a fox shinshi name Tomoe and two shikigami. It also turns out that Nanami has become a shrine deity! February Manga Wrap Up

I read a lot of manga that I began building my own collection beginning with some of the CLAMP series and an ongoing series called Yona of the Dawn. I started thinking about all the time I spent reading all kinds of manga that I may as well start talking about some of them that I read each month. I do read more than one series in-between, so I will choose to talk about some of the series that I recommend and these are ones that I finished reading or I am caught up with in a series. Now here is my monthly wrap up of manga I read in February.

1.The Demon Prince of Momochi House by Aya Shouoto

A completed series about Himari Momochi who inherits a mysterious house in the mountains on her sixteenth birthday. An orphan, she has never seen this house before but to her surprise she finds three handsome squatters already living in the house and have taken over her role! And she learns that the house exists as a barrier between the human and spiritual realms. Continue reading “February Manga Wrap Up”

May Wrap Up:

Hello everyone! How are you? As I am writing this I realized that I haven’t posted a monthly wrap up in a long time. The reason for that is because in the last months I was either too preoccupied with my full-time contract job or I haven’t read enough books in a month to post a wrap up. But this month I have read a handful of books to write a post about so that’s what I’m doing today! Continue reading “May Wrap Up:”

February Bookhaul + Wrapup:

Last month wasn’t the greatest reading month. I only read two books which is the lowest number I ever hit in a month. The good news is that I got a pretty good haul including an ARC which I haven’t had in a long time, and is connected to some really good news that I can’t wait to share with you all! I don’t want to announce the goods news yet so you will have to wait and see, but I will give you a small hint: it’s got something to do with the ARC for Tell the Wind and Fire that I received from Random House Canada! And that’s all I’m going to say about that. Continue reading “February Bookhaul + Wrapup:”

January Wrap Up!

How was everyone’s first month in 2016? I felt like it flown by really fast. Last month I wanted to try something new on my blog so I started doing the Stacking the Shelves meme on Mondays. It worked out great for sharing new titles that I bought over the weekends whether they were recommendations from the blogosphere or a new book that I found at a bargain price. Since Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing what books we bought, borrowed, and received over the week, I’m skipping my monthly ritual of posting a book haul for January, and doing a wrap up instead. My December Wrapup + Mini Book Haul

IMG_0216

Before I begin I like to apologize for not posting my November wrapup. I’ve been working on a full-time position last year that it was so hard to keep up with my blogging. I had such a difficult time reading too, that I’m sad to say that my November wrapup was very meager. I remember only reading one or two books but that’s it. I think that was the reason I didn’t post a wrapup for that month because I didn’t see the point of discussing only a couple of books. Either that or I was just so preoccupied with my job and the stress that carried with it that I had no energy at all to sit and write. Even writing one review was difficult enough as I would find myself staring at my computer trying to come up with one sentence, and when I do, I suddenly get a writer’s block (if you call that a writer’s block). September Wrap Up:

I’ve been so focused on my job last month and keeping up to date with my blog that I hardly had enough time to read except during the weekends. The only problem with this I ended up reading a measly four books. Yes, only four. That’s how busy I was last month and I’m so disappointed with myself for reading so little. Worse is that I had a hard time keeping up with my blog without reaching a slump, which has recently come to pass but before that, I didn’t even feel like writing a review for the last book I finished.

August Wrap Up:

Summer is over folks! September has arrived and fall will soon be upon us. August is gone and that means another monthly wrap up. With only one month of summer left, I thought I could finish the season with a lot of reading before the fall releases came out. Sadly, I only read 7 books but I did start reading a new series before the sequel is released, so that’s an advantage. Continue reading “August Wrap Up:”
